The Germanic-American Institute’s mission is connecting people to a broader world through German language and culture. They approached me to completely rebuild their website from the ground up.
The institute’s in-house designer created static mockups of the new website, and I brought them to life with HTML and CSS. I built a custom WordPress theme utilizing Advanced Custom Fields and taking full advantage of WordPress’ new Gutenberg editor. The new site includes a robust calendar system which I customized using The Events Calendar plugin.
Developing the functionality for this site was just as fun as the front-end design. I love showing people how easy the WordPress admin is—even for non-technical staff. Contact me for a behind-the-scenes site tour!
